About

Youngs Farm is a family-run sustainable and regenerative farm with an on-site bakery, kitchen and market. The farm is currently run by Paula Youngs Weir, her daughter Remsen and her son-in-law Tim. Virtually everything we produce is sold onsite at our store. We pride ourselves on customer service, cleanliness and high quality products. We are proud to be one of the few remaining working farms in Nassau County.

OUR TEAM

Youngs Farm is currently managed by the 4th and 5th generations of the Youngs Family, and we are fortunate to employ a wonderful staff - Bakers, Cooks, Dishwashers, Packers, Farm Crew, Market Team, Facilities Team and more.

History

Youngs Farm was founded in 1893 as a result of a marriage between the Youngs and the Hegemans (the farm is located on Hegeman’s Lane). The Youngs history in the area dates back to 1640, when The Rev. John H. Youngs sailed across the Long Island Sound from Connecticut, settles Southhold, and establishes the first English Church in New York State.

FARMING METHODS

We have been farming according to organic principles for the last 5 years, and were approved for organic certification in 2021. Our focus in soil management is building organic matter and a living soil to sequester carbon and create productive, healthy soil.

PARTNER FARMS

Youngs Farm has developed relationships with local farmers, both organic and conventional, to provide the highest quality and freshest possible produce to our customers. We pick up directly from the majority of these farms—daily or weekly depending on the farm—for the majority of the year. We are extremely grateful to be able to support these farms and are thrilled to be able to share them with our customers.
